A scary few moments for folks a section of downtown San Luis Obispo yesterday morning. San Luis Obispo City Fire Department crews were called out to a report of a possible gas leak. SoCalGas and Fire crews isolated an area around Monterey and Osos Streets where the smell may have come from. A number of businesses in the downtown area were either evacuated or told to shelter in place. Officials say crews found a puddle of hydraulic fluid or oil that may have been the source of the strong odor. Everything returned to normal by 11:30 when the streets were reopened and evacuation orders lifted.
