Eight people needed to be rescued from a fishing boat yesterday morning. It began at around 7:20 when Crews from CAL FIRE SLO and Port San Luis Harbor Patrol responded to a distress call regarding a possible engine fire on the 50-foot fishing boat. It turned out that the boat’s engine overheated and there was no fire. The six passengers were taken ashore. Two crew members stayed with the boat. No injuries were reported.
