Good news for California farmers. North America appears headed for a new trade agreement. The United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement, or USMCA, replaces the NAFTA agreement that has guided trade between the three countries for over 25 years. The House passed USMCA last week. The Senate is expected to take up the legislation next month. Manuel Cunha, with a farmer’s league in California’s Central Valley, says it should give farmers a more even playing field in all countries.
