A special holiday gift for a scammed veteran in Fresno, California. Community members rallying around 92-year-old Floyd Smith after he lost part of his retirement savings. The World War Two veteran lent 10-thousand dollars to someone and never got it back. Media coverage led to hundreds of people donating money for him. Smith was overjoyed, Monday, unwrapping his gift, a check for more than 12-thousand dollars. He’s also receiving a new, free hearing aid next month. To spread more joy, a hotel in Cayucos donated a two-night stay for Smith and his new wife for their honeymoon.
