Teen Door-To-Door Scam in Paso And San Luis Obispo

San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles Police are warning residents about a group of teenagers who have been running a door-to-door donation scam. Investigators say a group of male teenagers in San Luis Obispo has been going door-to-door identifying themselves as high school students and asking for cash or checks for school-related travel expenses. According to the Tribune, a similar scam happened in Paso Robles. A teen was arrested after a search of his vehicle turned up allegedly forged documents that asked for donations for the high school’s Field Studies Collaborative program. The investigations are ongoing.
