Lompoc Fire and Police departments are asking city leaders for funding to make upgrades. According to KSBY, Lompoc P.D. needs 2 million dollars for equipment and infrastructure improvements. The fire department says it needs 630,000 dollars. City officials are hopeful that a proposed one-percent sales tax increase on the ballot this year could help. Lompoc’s current budget has a deficit of about 300,000 dollars.
