San Luis Obispo County’s largest K-12 school district has decided to kick off the new school year with distance learning. A unanimous decision by the Lucia Mar Board of Education cam the day after SLO County was placed on the state’s watch list. The online school year will begin August 13th. Officials say Daily attendance will be required for all students, and the school schedule will look similar to regular, pre-coronavirus hours. The decision affects roughly 10,200 students.
