Extreme Heat And Fire Dangers Close National Forests

Extreme heat and dangerous fire conditions forced the closure of several national Forests across California over the weekend. The forests affected include Stanislaus, Sierra, Sequoia, Inyo, Los Padres, Angeles, San Bernardino, and Cleveland National Forests. The closures went into effect yesterday at 5 p.m… According to a U.S. Forest Service press release, the closures were necessary to public safety and to reduce the potential for human-caused fires, and will be reevaluated daily.
