The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office has been awarded the 2020 Challenge Award from the California State Association of Counties. It’s a major award in the category of “Administration of Justice & Public Safety,” and it was given to The Sheriff’s Office for its Behavioral Health Incentive Program. The program is committed to reducing the number of days individuals with severe mental illness are in County Jail.
