Sheriff And D.A. Respond To Stay at Home Order

San Luis Obispo County Sheriff Ian Parkinson responded to Governor Gavin Newsom’s latest Stay at Home Order. In his statement posted on Twitter, Sheriff Parkinson says the sheriff’s office will continue to “focus on significant criminal matters” adding that his office will not “criminalize people who are trying to preserve their mental, physical, and financial health.” Meanwhile, when asked by the Tribune if the owners of Kennedy Club Fitness would face charges for not following the Stay at Home Order, SLO County D.A. Dan Dow also issued a similar statement saying, in part, “there is no sense in labeling a business owner or a business as a criminal for choosing to keep their business open in a manner that adequately protects their customers – who, by the way, are not being forced to enter their business.”
