San Luis Obispo and Pismo Beach Police departments each have new top cops. Following a nationwide search, San Luis Obispo city officials announced the selection of Rick Scott from North Richland Hills, Texas. Chief Scott says his first steps as Chief will be to build strong and lasting relationships – within the department, the city organization, and the community. Meanwhile, SLOPD’s Captain Jeff Smith, who has been the city’s Interim Police Chief has become the new Chief of Police for the City of Pismo Beach.
