A forty-year-old debate came to an end last night. With a unanimous vote, the California Coastal Commission decided to prohibit off-highway vehicle use at Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area. California State Parks is now mandated to end OHV use at the Oceano Dune by 2024. Supporters of the decision called it environmental justice. Others said they are planning to take the Commission to court.
