With much of the Central Coast in a moderate to severe drought, Lompoc city officials have a new water conservation initiative. Now through the end of May, the city will be handing out water conservation kits at local libraries. Kits will include either coloring books for young students, planting supplies and conservation goodies for middle and high school students, or low-flow showerheads and aerators for adults.
