Sprouts Farmers Market is ready to open a new store in San Luis Obispo next month. Sprouts officials say the company is committed to “zero waste,” so the new store will donate unsold and edible groceries to the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County through the company’s Food Rescue program. Last year Sprouts stores donated 27 million pounds of food. Food that cannot be donated is given to local cattle farms and composting facilities. The new store on Madonna Road will hold a grand opening on Wednesday, April 3rd.
