The Creston man who claimed his truck was stolen before it was involved in a hit and run accident last month is facing a couple more charges. CHP Investigators say 39-year-old Richard Gonzalez allegedly made an unsafe lane change, striking another vehicle that ran into a tree, sending the driver to the hospital. Authorities say Gonzalez grabbed his vehicle paperwork but left his laptop and i.d. behind. He eventually turned himself in to authorities, claiming the truck had been stolen before the incident. Following a three-week investigation, CHP officers arrested Gonzalez. He’s now facing felony hit and run and other charges.
