Just days before Paso Robles students returned to class, residents who live near Bauer Speck Elementary school may have noticed an abundance of first responder activity. Paso Robles Police and Fire departments were training for the possibility of an active shooter situation. Officials took the opportunity to use the school for training while it undergoes renovations. Some students volunteered to act as victims. Officials say the drills help to keep everyone up to date and ready, just in case something like that happens in Paso Robles.
