The Lompoc Police Department is investigating an early morning homicide that left a soldier dead. Officials say officers were called out to the intersection of Ocean Avenue and A Street. Just before 2 a.m. yesterday. When they arrived they found 22-year-old Marion Brumfield suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He would be pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators say he was on leave from the Army visiting home when he died.
