Some residents living below the Avila Fire burn scar are keeping a wary eye on the hillside. Thursday night, a small mudslide brought about 75 tons of mud and debris to a private neighborhood along Mattie Road. Crews began cleaning up the mudslide over the weekend. Only minor damage was reported. Pismo Beach City officials say the property is private and managed by a Home Owners Association, adding that they are working with the HOA to point them in the right direction. Residents want more mitigation measures in place before the next major storm.
