Atascadero Police say a man is in custody, after brandishing what appeared to be a rifle. Just before 2 p.m. officers responded to a report of a man with a rifle on Capistrano Avenue. The suspect fled into a nearby creek. The Atascadero Junior High School was placed on lockdown while officers searched for the suspect. He was eventually found in possession of a BB gun and arrested on suspicion of brandishing a firearm and an outstanding warrant.
